The impact protection is made of sturdy plastic and protects the touring cases at the front, sides and bottom from scratches and damage. The two molded parts on each side therefore serve well when the bike has to be maneuvered into tight parking spaces or narrow passages. But even when transported by hand, the impact protection can take a bump or two.
